At Southwood Trucking Ltd.  we are seeking a  Janitor/Caretaker/Heavy Duty Cleaner who will be responsible for performing routine and heavy-duty cleaning, sanitation, maintenance, and general upkeep of the interior and exterior of commercial buildings and premises.  The incumbent ensures that the facility remains clean, safe, sanitary, and presentable at all times for employees, customers and visitors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Sweep, clean, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors, hallways and other common areas.
• Ensure entrances and common areas are tidy
• Operate heavy duty cleaning equipments
• Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings
• Empty trash cans
• Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
• Remove snow, ice and debris from entrances and pathways during winter months
• Cut grass, trim hedges, water plants, and maintain surrounding grounds
• Conduct regular inspections of the premises and report maintenance concerns to management

Qualifications/Experience:

• Previous cleaning experience in a similar job
• Knowledge in using cleaning equipment
• Ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and spend long hours outdoors in various weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• Capable of standing for long periods
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects 50+lbs
• Bending, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch
• Work with chemicals
• Handle manual tasks
